  • interactive,
  • reliable.

Join us in the world of learning and fun!

Wider World has been developed in cooperation with BBC. By combining Pearson's expertise in ELT and BBC's most engaging video content, you get a course that will make classroom experience an unforgettable one.

The 3 types of course videos: humorous dramas, intriguing BBC Culture and BBC Vox Pops provide inspiring content and motivate students to use English as it is really spoken.

Wider World offers numerous opportunities for students to interact with real language.

In grammar and speaking lessons students meet their peers from the UK and while following their everyday lives, they learn key structures and phrases necessary in everyday communication.

The model dialogues are also available as video episodes of a teenage series called Harlow Mill.

Each unit ends with a BBC culture lesson and an engaging project in which English becomes the tool through which students access a wider world of knowledge, skills and experience along with revising the newly acquired language.

Assessment for Learning

Every lesson begins with a clear Can-do statement so that students and teachers know exactly what they are doing and why. Every unit has a review page which includes a self-assessment check followed up more in detail in the Workbook. Organised on the principle of Assessment for Learning, the in-course testing and assessment package provides over 600 test activities per level covering both language and skills.

Global Scale of English

Wider World has been built around the Global Scale of English, which enables granular monitoring of student progress. The rigorous syllabus correlated with the Global Scale of English provides the right language at the right level with the right amount of practice and the right sort of assessment along the way to bring students up to the level required to pass their end of school exams.
